Wiesmann was founded in 1988 by brothers Martin and Friedhelm Wiesmann in Dülmen, Germany, first building custom hardtops before becoming known for low-volume hand-built sports cars. The brand emblem has long used a gecko, a direct reference to the company’s claim that its cars adhere to the road like a gecko adheres to a wall.
While the exact production artwork has been refined over time, the gecko motif has remained the core identifier through the company’s roadster and GT eras and into its modern revival. The badge connects the marque’s lightweight sports-car character with a memorable, technically suggestive animal symbol.
