Lifan began in Chongqing in 1992 as a motorcycle business founded by Yin Mingshan, and its name combines the Chinese ideas of strength and sail. The brand emblem has long used a blue oval containing three stylized sails, linking the company name to forward movement and industrial ambition.
When Lifan entered passenger-car production in the mid-2000s, the same sail-based identity was applied to vehicle grilles, badges, dealer signage, and export materials. After the company's restructuring and reorganization into Lifan Technology, the core Lifan name and blue sail symbolism remained associated with its automotive and mobility products.
