CUPRA began as the performance badge used by SEAT for Cup Racing models, with the name derived from “Cup” and “Racing.” In 2018, SEAT S.A. launched CUPRA as a standalone performance brand with its own identity, positioned around sportiness, electrification, and contemporary Spanish design.
The current CUPRA emblem was introduced with the standalone brand and uses a sharp, symmetrical symbol inspired by tribal markings and racing graphics. Its copper-toned identity became a key historic feature of the brand, distinguishing CUPRA from SEAT’s earlier red and silver performance badging.
