Ascari is a small British sports-car manufacturer founded in the mid-1990s by Dutch racing driver and entrepreneur Klaas Zwart. The company name pays homage to Italian racing legend Alberto Ascari and focused on producing high-performance road and track cars such as the Ascari KZ1 and the KZ1-R. Ascari operated a test and development facility and was closely linked to private racing activity and limited-production, hand-built vehicles. After its production years the marque continued to be known for its exclusive, race-bred engineering and its founder's motorsport background.
